Hi, I’m Dustin

Aside from my passion for pickleball, I’m a resident physician in the emergency medicine program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Before medical school and residency, I spent several years as a firefighter-paramedic—that’s where I first fell in love with pickleball. Between 911 calls and training, we’d pull the fire apparatus out of the bay and set up a taped court with portable nets to play.

Driven by curiosity

I’ve always been driven by curiosity and a desire to grow. Those qualities—shaped by my early experiences—ultimately led me to leave a planned lifelong career in Utah and pursue medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Then came pickleball

That same curiosity and passion inspired me to start the Pickleball Medicine review channel, where I explore the “why” behind paddle performance. I love testing theories, analyzing gear, and diving into the details of a sport that’s brought so much joy and friendship into my life.

I’m also a proud husband and a father to two wonderful sons, both born during medical school.

It’s a privilege to share the pickleball space with you. I’m excited to contribute and help however I can!
